The Sculptor's Dream

Sculptures are often perceived as symbols of stillness and timelessness that defy time. However, The Sculptor's Dream shatters this perception, inviting us into a world filled with doubt and questioning rather than certainty and permanence. To look beyond the visible and witness the moment when the essence of a form begins to dissolve... You can only experience this in a dream. These photographs challenge the traditional meaning of sculpture; in these works, the shape, hardness, and sharp lines of the stone have been deliberately distorted, lost in an unconscious flow. Here, blurriness is not an error or a technical flaw; on the contrary, it is a visual representation of liberation from the immutability of matter. Each line is a record of the delicate balance between wakefulness and dream within the sculpture.

The concept of time is one of the mysteries underlying these works. In dreams, time unravels like a knot; the line between beginning and end becomes blurred. The movement and vibration deliberately created during casting shakes the temporal stability of the sculpture and transports us to a completely different realm of perception. Here, the stone is not just a stone; it is the carrier of memories, dreams, and unconscious images. Each glance unravels a time capsule, drawing us into a multi-layered narrative. It builds a bridge between the sculpture's rational, constrained form and the infinite freedom of dreams.

In this project, sculptures are presented not only as material objects carved from stone, but also as metaphors. They are abstract dream forms shaped by the human mind and spirit. The silent language of dreams blends with the fixed outer lines of the sculpture and prompts the viewer to ask, “What am I really looking at?” French philosopher Paul Valéry's words may serve as a guide to understanding this project: "The more blurred something appears, the more it stimulates the imagination." These blurred images free our minds from dwelling on a fixed shape or meaning, allowing us to create new stories with every glance.
